Step 31~ Secure at least one type of personal branding domain, read blog post, and walk to the letter box
This month we explore personal branding and understanding self.
Hello Prosperity Project Community, how are you all going today?
Welcome to Step Number 31 in The Prosperity Project Journey of 1000 Steps.
Today we kick off the totem card of The Unreliable Narrator, and dive head first into Personal Branding as we began learning about practicing the art of loving-kindness for mindfulness and then registering a domain name on the platform we show up on most for our marketing.
Today we have a couple of journaling exercises for you to consider, one for your mind, and of course, another for your marketing.
I will list them both below but please remember this is only 1% of your day and if you have more time please extend each activity.
Remember you are aiming for consistency- meaning it's better to walk for 5 mins each day and build a daily habit than go walking for 10kms on a Sunday and do nothing on any other day.

Body Task: Keep Walking
Put your shoes on and walk to the letter box.
Please keep going with your walking and remember that it is all about building the habit one step at a time.
All that is required to complete today's body task is to get your trainers on and walk to the letterbox.
If you can go further than the letterbox this is awesome but not required to complete today's task.
Although this task seems simple it has been designed to encourage consistency and habit building.
Everybody can take 4 minutes out of their day to exercise.
Please remember this is all about forming habits.
Extended task: Walk for 8mins instead of 4mins.

If you don’t know who you are, then how can you know what you stand for.
It’s time to start finding our way back to our true self and our core values. So many of us are unaware that we are living by a set of beliefs and software programming that are embedded into our blueprint during our childhood.
All of a sudden we wake up one day feeling tired and weary, we have no motivation and can no longer see joy in the life we have created for our self, as we aren’t aware of the fact that we have been living as the false self for most of our life.
How do we become aware that we have been living a lie?
We start practicing Mindfulness. The art of Mindfulness is the key to our awakening as it starts to bring an awareness to who we truly are and how we want to show up in the world.
We can begin by asking ourself:
Am I showing the world a true reflection of myself?
Am I able to be vulnerable and be my true authentic self?
If the answer is no or only sometimes or only with certain people then now is the time to take action. All we need to do is follow these three steps:
- Be Vulnerable and
- Just be You
So what has this got to do with figuring out who we are?
When we awaken to our true self it is like we are being roused from a period of sleep. An awakening of self is profoundly empowering as we learn to connect to our truth and realise we are an extension of all there is.
Mindfulness meditation allows us to go into stillness and silence and this is key to awakening; as to rouse from our slumber we must go within so we can re-connect and find our true selves.
The next step is vulnerability where we must surrender to our true self and learn to fully accept and love who it is we are. As we delve into our mind, thoughts of fear and worry, unworthiness and doubt will appear, just allow these to pass through by
- Allowing the feelings to rise to surface,
- Acknowledging that they have arrived and
- Letting go of any attachment or judgement that may be present
This step can be quite provoking as strong emotions may surface and make us feel uncomfortable, at these times we need to remember to stay strong as our fears are stopping us from being our true self and when we are connected to our truth, happiness, pure love and abundance will arrive in our life.
When we can conquer our fear of being vulnerable, this allows us to step into our truth and just be who it is we are with no shame, guilt, fear, humiliation, apprehension or doubt.
To Just Be You is the most natural state of being. There is no right or wrong, no duality, there is just a stillness, a sense of neutrality, acceptance and compassion as we are fully aligned to our truth. We no longer judge or criticize our self as we accept our whole being the good and the bad and this allows us to love both parts.
We feel a sense of wholeness and spaciousness when we step into this zone and then we realise that not everyone is going to love who we are and that is perfectly okay. It is our uniqueness and honesty that will attract the right people into our life as they will feel safe in our essence and we will given them the freedom to be just as they are too.
As Oscar Wilde once stated,
Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.

Business Task: Personal Branding
Secure at least one type of personal branding domain on your choice of social channel or URL
Personal Branding is important for all business owner's in 2020 and beyond.
Although a business owner may believe they don't need a personal brand, something I find which comes up often is how much a personal brand will influence a business at both a micro and macro level especially when the business is still at start up stage.
Pretending humans don't have baggage in order to avoid a personal brand is not an honest and authentic way to begin a business, because it can cause long term ramifications down the track as people think they are working with one type of person, and then all kinds of skeletons come out of the closet leading to another.
The idea of working through your personal brand, regardless of whether or not you use it at this stage of your business journey yet, is to come face to face with how accurate you truly are as the narrator of your own life.
Between now and the next 29 modules in this subject, I want you to really consider birthing an accurate and authentic version of yourself into the world.
Today, the first task in this series is to think about where you- the individual as centre stage of this personal brand- show up most in the online world.
Is it your website?
Snapchat or Linkedin?
Decide on the platform or platforms you want to be associated with your personal brand and then set to securing these domain names asap~ the most valuable piece of real estate being the www.yourname.com.au domain.
Even if you aren't yet ready to use these domains in your journey today, the more you work through The Prosperity Project, the more you will realise just how important your personal brand is to your success.
