Step 68- Introducing body scan meditation, simple task of walking and common threads
This month we explore values & purpose, business branding and walking as a way to build healthy habits.
Hello and Welcome to Step 68 of The Prosperity Project Journey of 1000 Steps.
Today is the start of week 2 of Card 3 and will be the start of body scan meditation for mind task, which we will continue for the rest of the month.
Our body task will continue focusing on building habits through the simple task of walking.
For the business task, Nina will ask you to journal on the common thread of all your customers.
So let us begin and remember!
YOU have the power to create, YOU have the passion to succeed and YOU have resources to find a solution!
YOU have the power to create
YOU have the passion to succeed
YOU have resources to find a solution
Body Task: Keep Moving
Put your shoes on and go for a walk during your lunch break
One of the key steps to having a healthy body is to move it whenever you can.
All that is required to complete today's body task is to get your trainers on at lunch time and go for a nice leisurely stroll around the block.
If you are totally quarantined in the house or at work, look for stairs or a place somewhere in the house or at work where you can walk on the spot if you have to!!
Just make sure wherever you are--that you are interrupting the habit of being stationary at lunch, and replacing the habit with getting up and moving about instead.
Although this task seems simple it has been designed to encourage consistency and habit building.
Every single person can take a minimum 4 minutes out of their day to exercise.
Please remember this is all about forming habits.
If you want to track your steps or know how many km's you've done we recommend that you invest in a Garmin watch but also looks great too, so you can go from walking and back to the office and still look the part 😉

Mind Task: Values & Purpose
Listen/Read Mind Talk: Body Scan Meditation
Tomorrow we begin our meditation practice again and this card focuses on connecting to the body, so the meditation we will be completing for the rest of this month is the “Body Scan”. This meditation is designed to bring your awareness to the body. The more you do this practice the more you connect and start to hear the messages your body is sending you.
When we do the Body Scan we connect to our body, we notice how it is feeling, without judgement, we also don’t try to change what is present. We become the observer and just listen. The body scan can be done in a seating or lying down positions and we can use it in a number of ways.
· If we are finding it difficult to sleep, doing the body scan meditation just before bed and releasing and relaxing each body part can help one fall asleep.
· If we are feeling a bit off, we can do a body scan to see if there is any discomfort sitting in the body and then investigate why this might be present.
· When we are heightened with emotion doing a body scan can help us see how this emotion affects our body – we can check in and see where our body feels uncomfortable and notice what this feel likes.
· If we are feeling flighty or unfocussed we can do a body scan to help bring us into the present moment.
The Body Scan meditation is a key tool we use in Mindfulness as we can use it as a formal or informal practice of meditation.
If you have time to now, just take a moment to close your eyes, starting at your feet and slowly working your way up to the top of your head, just quickly scan the body and notice what is present in this moment. Once you’ve finished your scan take a deep breath in through the nose and breathe out through the mouth.
Business Task: Business Branding
What is the common thread of the people you like working for?
Have you ever wondered if there is a common thread all your customers share?
And if so what it looks like?
Today your task is to have a think for any similarites your customers share.
This could be whether or not they are:
- Approx Education level they reached
- Job/Position held
- Price of work they hired or paid you to do
- The job they hire you for or paid you to do.
- Whatever else you can think of to help
For The Prosperity Project, the common theme we have is that all our facilitators are strong and empowered women--regardless of what subject they teach or have a specialty niche in.
The common thread for our students is they are aware they have an issue of some kind, they have acepted what that issue is, and have then decided to take a course of action to resolve it.
Now it's your turn!
What common thread do the people you like working with have in common and share with each other?
Remember this task is to focus on the customer you want to attract, so only choose the people who you love working with and want to continue having a relationship with.
