Today I choose to explore new possibilities
The covid pandemic isn’t going away anytime soon and as Melbourne swirls rumours of stage 4 lockdowns and The Garden remains closed for at least another 5 weeks it’s time to honestly look at the situation playing out in Australia right now.
If you are a small business owner like me, chances are your business is closed.
And chances are another month is going past where you are paying rent on your business premises.
And chances are you have another month of no income other than (possible) government benefits.
And chances are your rent, and electricity and groceries and petrol needs to be paid.
And whilst this is ok for maybe 4 weeks or 6 weeks or 8 or 10, the question needs to be asked for how long it can be sustained when it goes on indefinitely, or every time a new virus or crisis hits our Aussie shores that our Government determines whose business opens and whose closes and who prospers or who withers and dies.
I love my country.
And I love the Mornington Peninsula.
And I love small business and serving a community of people rather than faceless corporations.
These were all reasons that I chose to open my business in Frankston, and the reason I chose to invest into The Prosperity Project- Mind Body Business.
Right now, there is a lot of money swirling around our economy.
Govt handouts, unlocked superannuation, and charity to name a few, but eventually money runs out…I know this because I studied it before this pandemic hit.
For a family of 5 people with no income, paying rent on a business, a house, groceries and childcare, $150,000 can be spent in one year…and this is without luxury expenses… that’s more than the average amount of the salary of a two-person income family.
And so, whilst it’s great that there is a lot of money in the economy right now, what happens when it runs out?
Credit Cards climb.
The house gets sold.
Hard times hit.
And when this occurs– then what?
Most times the problems that the money was meant to solve?
They still remain.
This is why education is so important….it’s why The Prosperity Project- Mind Body Business is so important.
….it’s something we need to do before we actually need it, otherwise feeding hungry tummies and paying rent comes first and second and education comes third.
So as much as I love The Garden and as much as I love The Prosperity Project–right now for myself, my family and my community– we need something different.
Do I have the answers for what that is or how to deliver it?
Not really, but I’m not one to shy away from a challlenge!!.
Like you I am pivoting my business, trying to keep my head above water, stay on my feet, and think fast– which means once again, The Garden Frankston is going to undergo another transformation.
Because of my involvement with The Prosperity Project and my portfolio of work over the last few years I’m going to do this with you out loud….. in person….. and live.
We are all in this together.
And if me showing you what I am doing, where I am succeeding and failing, how I practice what I preach and teach….if any of this helps you…then I am still fulfilling my dreams of serving the community, I’m just doing it in a different way to what I originally envisioned.
Today I choose to explore new possibilities.
It’s a new dawn.
It’s a new day.
It’s a new life for me……
And I’m feeling good
